What People Say About Us

Hi Scott,
Just to let you know I Passed both the Property and Casualty exams. I found the property a lot easier than the casualty exam. You definitely had to apply your knowledge. Thanks for the great instruction and I'll see you in a few weeks for Life & Disability class.

Thanks again,
Sharon Graham

PS: Knowing that "Estoppel' wasn't the right answer definitely helped!

Hey Scott-
This is Erin Flajole and I took your Life and Disability class last week, July 21st-24th. (I was the Cougar fan that kept getting picked on all week! ;-) I took my tests this morning and I am happy to report that I passed all 4 parts. The test was very similar to what you said. It was challenging, but obviously not that bad if I passed. There were quite a few confusing questions, tricky bastards, but we had gone over most of the possible tricks in class, so I think I was fairly well prepared. Thanks! Hopefully I'll be seeing you in October for a Series 6/63 class!

Sincerely,
Erin Flajole

Hi Scott,
I just got back from taking the test. I'm not going to say that the test was easy because it wasn't. After taking our class, I thought I was going to be laughing the whole time. I laughed once in a while and cringed every other. Needless to say, I passed. I hope the rest of the class did well. I didn't mention it to you but the first day of class, you reminded me of Dennis Leary. Sure kept it interesting watching Dennis Leary teach insurance. Pretty much everything you taught was in the test but the way they screw the wording makes a persons confidence come down just a little.

I think you did a great job and thank you.

I passed my P & C test. [property and casualty] Thanks for all your help.

The lady asked if this was the first time I had taken it. I told her yes and she seemed surprised. Do most people not pass the first time?

When are you having your next CE day? Do you have them every month? My friend is interested but had appointments today and could not attend.

Catch you later.
Diana Cunningham

Hi Scott!
This is Di (remember, shortest-name-in-the-world girl). Just wanted to drop you a line and tell you that I passed my Series 6 exam with an 86% overall grade. I received a score of 92% or above on the Variable Contracts/Retirement Plans and Securities Industry Regulation sections! The questions were tough and tricky the way they were worded. However, I used the answer analysis tips you recommended in class and it helped immensely. You made otherwise dry material downright palatable. Your class helped me to better grasp concepts that would be complicated or even vague had I attempted self-study. I will be taking my Series 63 exam next Tuesday. You're a terrific instructor. Thank you very much!

Sincerely,
Di K. Le

Hey Scott, just wanted to drop you a line to say thanks for your guidance in assisting me to pass both exams. That 63 was a heck of a lot harder than I thought it would be and much harder than the 6. Received a 79 and 76 respectively.

Once again, thanks for the help.

Oh and by the way, the jokes were good, don't stop em.

Brett Garrett

Scott,
Cheers! I took your advice and passed! Booze IS the answer. Go figure. And of course, I had to celebrate passing...

I'll be seeing you for those CE credits. My boss is currently pulling her hair out trying to get thru Long Term Care online thru our company. I tried to tell her (but you know how bosses like to save money) - Scott will not be undersold! I'll be there if I gotta pay outta my own pocket. Insurance is just too dang boring to suffer thru self study. Good for insomnia, through.

Until then, the best to you and yours, and thank you so much for everything!!

Thanks for the class down here in Houston.
I made an 86. Studied too much I guess.

Tom Wilker

Thanks for all of the great instruction in class. Your combination of knowledge and humor are a perfect mix to remembering basically dry material. I studied a bit the day before I took the test to refresh my self, and was happy to see many of the examples and pitfalls you used and warned us about on the test! I passed all 4 parts with no problem. So once again, "Thanks!"

Hi Scott,
Whoa, what was that? Are they smoking crack in Olympia? Did Gary Locke have that test written when he went to China and then try to translate it into English himself? Do they speak in tongues in Olympia? I don't know how I passed, but I did and I don't even want to know by how much. I do know that if I hadn't passed the first time I might very well have wound up challenging the guy who took it 16 times.

Thanks for all your help! Rita

I finally took the test-I had to wait a whole week before taking it but I passed both the life and disability exams! I really did hear your voice and giggled a few times. Thanks for making the class fun and engaging.

Chris Canlas

Scott,
Those SOB's in Olympia ain't getting anymore $$ from me. I passed all 4 tests this morning. I was sure I was coming back… but I guess I changed just the right number of answers. I definitely recommend reviewing all of the answers. Even after reading a question carefully, trying to figure the answer made me sometimes lose sight of the "EXCEPT" or "Correct" in the question. It was very hard. But you prepared us well. Thanks. Disability was more difficult. Tried to confuse me with Medicare and Medicaid… in the heat of the battle I couldn't differentiate! But I passed, so that's all that matters. It is much easier to land an airplane. Thanks again.

Andrew Mandel. (Class last week, Husky Fan!) Go Huskies!

Dear Scott,
Last week was a quick and informative week. Started Monday morning with limited knowledge of the field, and by Friday afternoon had passed the test. I was disappointed with the test as I was out of the test center in less than two hours while passing all four parts of the test. I felt that I didn't get my $70 worth in the exam. I didn't have to think hard, just turn my mind into overdrive from the lectures. If one just stays awake during the week, there is no excuse for not passing the exam. The course is the best bargain in education. Now I'll have to take Property and Casualty.

Many thanks,
John David Jacobson

Hey Scott,
I walked into the test center in Everett somewhat sure I would pass my tests based on "past performance". 2/3rds the way through on test #1 I wondered if I was in the right room taking the right test! Towards the end of the 2nd test I wondered if I might be coming back to retake any number of tests. I finished with an hour and a half left and the results were… PASS/PASS PASS/PASS

My advice, for what it's worth, to future L & D students, go with the first answer.

Jim Tobin

Scott,
Randall Davey here. In class two weeks ago (the class that started day after Labor Day). I sat in the section to your right, second table from the back, in the middle of that row. I'm the guy who told you that you had the Paul Neuman look going.

I passed all four tests on Tuesday following. I have to say that it was one of the most demanding if not unfair exams I've ever taken. I didn't recognize most of the first 10 questions. The woman beside me got up and walked out 10 minutes into the exam. I frankly thought I bombed the whole thing and not because I didn't know the material.

Thanks for warning, the coaching and teaching, I'll be your campaign manager if you decide to run for Commissioner. And while we're at it, lets try to get legislature to make it a lifetime election once you are in.

Thanks,
Randall

Scott,
You probably don't remember me… I was the only person in the class older than you around 120 - 1/24. I had to make up a lot of the class via headset. Anyway, passed the tests pretty easily. Just thought I'd let you know.

Thanks, again. You do a great job. I'd be bored to tears after 6 months. Don't know how you've handled it for 13 (?) years.
